Danielle and Jeff are going to marry at the beautiful Red Ridge Farms in Dundee, Oregon , next summer. It's in Oregon's wine country and it will be beautiful! We had a blast getting to know them and photographing them on this beautifully sunny and crisp fall day in Portland this year. They live in Los Angeles but came north, to Portland, to meet with some vendors and to have the opportunity to get their engagement session done.... SO glad they came up when they did: the weather was perfect and we had a blast! We can't forget to mention pretty little Bella... She's the little doggie in some of the photos below. #aww ;)

  Meet Laura and Craig and their doggie! Laura is a professional musician and one of the sweetest people we've met. Together, they make a cute little family of three and we could not be more excited to be the ones to photograph their wedding day, next summer! They will marry at the beautiful Gorge Crest Vineyard in August. This past weekend, we met up for a morning engagement shoot at one of their favorite parks in Portland Oregon: Mt Tabor ! It's where 3 of the city's drinking water reservoirs are and where people gather to enjoy nature and views of downtown, while immersed in tall, old-growth trees. This was a great time to visit the park! It turns out that the leaves were turning red as the grasses were as brightly green as they could be. Loved it!

Char and Eric are FUN! We met up with them on Lewis and Clark College campus, where they met and went to school. The campus grounds are GORGEOUS! The old mansion is like stepping into the Old World with formal gardens and fountains and pools and old, mature greenery... perfectly manicured. We had a great time meeting them one early morning. They light was perfect and so was the weather: no rain and perfect temperatures (unheard of for springtime in Portland) ;) Here is their sneak peek. We are so excited for their wedding! Emily & Jon (and Leo-dog) are two outdoorsy people (and dog)! ;) They hike and explore nature as much as they possibly can, so it was only obvious for them to pick this beautiful location for their engagement session.  Latourell Falls in the Columbia Gorge  is one of those places that leave a visitor in awe. It's right off of Historic Hwy 30 (after a little bit of a hike) and well work the time to get there! We wish we had had more time to stay in the Gorge for more exploring... can't wait to get back out there! We're so lucky. We get to meet and photograph amazing people from all walks of life... year after year! Lauren & Tolga a special to us, since they are living locally in Oregon (just as I am), but have roots in the Old World (just as I do). Turkey for them, Italy for me. It's all the same with people who come from distant lands to live in America: we have a special bond :) This was a GREAT day with them! The day was sunny and the park was not crowded at all. We were able to aim shots away from those people who were there, making it look even more desolate. We had a blast! Angie and Jarl are two FUN people! They have a beautiful family and great success in business. They have found each other and are perfect for one another... we witnessed this, on their engagement session last week. I was a blast! WINDY! This was yet another GORGEOUS spring day in Portland. The sky was beautifully dramatic ... Angie & Daniel were willing to be as beautiful and goofy as they felt like being. We love that! We love it when our couples get comfortable enough to "make faces" and not feel "weird" about it ;) We started off near the Ace Hotel in downtown Portland, walked over to Powell's Bookstore and then drove to the Eastbank Esplanade , on the east side of the Willamette River. That's where the sky went crazy! Dark billowing clouds came in from all directions, the sun was peeking through AND we even had a beautifully bright rainbow! Then... HAIL! Beth & Clint are soooo great! They are yet another of our upcoming 2013 wedding couples and yet another of our recent engagement sessions. They are sweethearts. They live in a cute home in SE Portland that they've been remodeling; got engaged at a nearby house where he used to live; she picked him up a a fun bar ( Rontom's ) in SE; they love nature and Portland parks. All this added to a full few hours of photography! Meet Tawny & Mike! They will marry this summer 2013 (4th of July weekend!) at the beautiful Gorge Crest Vineyards in the Columbia Gorge. They were super nervous for their engagement shoot this past week, but ended up totally relaxing and having a blast! We met at the hair salon where she got all done up ( Moxie at the Embassy Suites Downtown ), and walked through the Burnside/China Town area. It rained a little bit at first, but then it cleared up and we ended up having a beautiful sunny day. We live in a truly magical place. The Mt Hood Wilderness area is just an hour away from downtown Portland... making it possible to visit it and be immersed in nature as often as one possibly can. We love to travel to the mountains (Mt Hood and beyond!) for our couples' engagement sessions, especially if the weather is as sunny and warm as this day was... (so rare for mid-February in Oregon!). On the day following Valentine's Day, we met with our fun and beautiful 2013 couple, Olivia and Ryan, at a cabin where she used to pass time when we was a child... this place meant a lot to her and we can see why! It's peaceful, beautiful and cozy... Loved this cabin and we loved Olivia & Ryan! Their wedding will be in September of 2013 on the Oregon Coast in Cannon Beach... it can't come soon enough. Crista and James are FUN! We had been communicating via email for months (since they live out of state). When we finally met in person, two days ago, it was as if we had known each other for ever! We totally bonded and had a blast on their engagement session... and their wedding is today! ;) Here is a sneak peek of their engagement session. It was a non-rainy day in Portland (which is rare for this time of year!) but it was COLD! We all bundled up and had a blast walking around SW Portland, near their hotel. I predict a fun-filled wedding day today with them!

Timberline Lodge  is a stunning place. Full of history and warm comfort. It's a local destination for many Oregon and Washington residents who love the snow and love to ski. It's also a popular destination for shoots such as this fun engagement session (and of course, weddings)!  Stephanie & Josh live in another state and are in Oregon to visit family. They stayed at Timberline Lodge over the weekend, which is when we drove up to meet them for their session. It was BEAUTIFUL and FUN exploring the place and getting to know them! Genuine souls, grateful for life and long-time sweethearts. This is one suuuper quick, single-image, sneak peek! As we work on the rest of the images from our session with Stephanie & Josh from yesterday, here is one that really shows the beautiful winter wonderland that surrounded the two of them. Timberline Lodge was gracious enough to let us photograph on their premises, inside and out. We started off inside and then moved to the outside towards the end. It was FUN! Stephanie & Josh are sweethearts and live out of state. They came to spend the weekend at the beautiful lodge, which is WONDERFUL because we LOVE to drive up there in the winter! So much snow and great energy. Can't wait to show you more!

Katie and Todd are two love birds. We explored Portland's Waterfront Pearl and Tanner Springs Park , which are two special places to them, as they live in the area. We had a blast laughing, walking around and getting to know them! After the shoot, they were so kind to invite us to their condo for a glass of wine... we are SO lucky to have clients who are as genuine and loving as they are! Thank you, you guys!! Steph and Phil and Max reeeeeally wanted views of Mt Hood for their wedding. What "won" was being right in downtown Portland though, so it was only natural for us to get out of the city for their engagement session. They were able to get Mt Hood views alright! ;) This was a couple of fridays ago, it was a beautiful summer day and we met up in the evening near Gorge Crest Vineyard. The view was incredible and Max was a blast to photograph too, what a sweet doggie! He had a few garbs to wear, just like mom ;) This is just a taste of the whole shoot and we are also so excited about THEIR wedding day in the summer fo 2013!

Meagan and Adam! They are in love with one another, members of the Timbers Army and getting married in the summer of 2013 at the gorgeous Black Butte Ranch . When we met in person, we had talked about trying to find a way to use Jeld-Wen Field for their engagement session; it seemed so natural to have their session there since they met during a Timbers game! Sure enough, they were able to get permission and we had a blast! It was a very hot day (look at that blue sky!) but we made it work... it was so worth it! We explored as much of the field as we could and then, immediately after, we went to their house to take a few more fun photos of them with their doggie Daisy, too! We seriously love these two and can't wait to see them again! Hopefully before their wedding 11 months from now, whoa! ;)

Now THIS was original! Kylie and TJ love to cook. They love margaritas and everything Mexico-related (here is their awesome blog: " The Bacon Diaries "!) Not only that, they are creative and fun AND about to marry! That's right... their wedding is only a couple of weeks away and we could not be more excited for them! We've been waiting for their day for over a year and a half after all. I can't believe it's already here; time flies! Check out this sneak peek of their "cooking and mixing drinks" engagement session. It was just as fun as they are as people! We must thank our friend Shan (owner of Maloy's Jewelry Workshop ) for his generosity. We were looking for a perfect kitchen location for their session and Shan offered his. Thank you sir! A couple of weeks ago, we travelled to Tara & Bear's home, in the Mt Hood forest. Little did we know that their acreage and home were going to be as beautiful as many Mt Hood area wedding venues! We spent the afternoon and evening with them, photographing them in different attires while exploring their property, inside and out. It was a blast and we really hit it off, which is so great since their wedding is coming right up this month! They will marry in the Sandy area, surrounded by friends and family, coordinated and planned by the fabulous Jessica of Bash! Events NW and enveloped in a BEAUTIFUL Vera Wang dress... Moving right along! :) Here is one more sneak peek for you... and it's super cute! Courtney and Doug met up with us just last week for their engagement session and BAM! They also married last week! We hadn't met before last week (except for great conversations via email, of course) because they live on the other coast ;) We had a blast getting to know them and walking around Cathedral Park in North Portland... it's where he proposed to her, so it was only natural for them to select this location for their engagement session. The sun was about to set and the temperature was just perfect. Courtney's dress was so cute on her and the light breeze was moving it around perfectly to make the photos even more fun. Thanks so much for your patience with us, friends! We've been photographing and editing non-stop and have had to stay away from blogging for a bit... but we're back! And boy do we have a bunch of images to show you! :) Here are Sarah & Ian! They and their doggie were so fun to hang with and photograph... not just that, their first choice for a location for their engagement session was the amazing Oneonta Gorge, in the Columbia Gorge! It's one of my favorite places to hike and explore, so when they thought to go there for their own shoot, I couldn't agree more! We had a bit of time in heels and a pretty dress, at the old tunnel and along a bit of the trail, then they changed clothes and we headed into the gorge itself. Amazing place! A big log jam is the first obstacle we had to climb over in order to make it through to the actual gorge. So fun! Sarah & Ian will be married later on this year on Sauvie Island.
