HushSessions: boudoir & bachelorette parties in Portland!

Image
Hush Session 's web site is now live and well! Misty Damico of Luxe Event Productions is the mastermind behind this one of a kind service, here in Portland, and she has teamed up with us here at MoscaPhoto ! She asked me if I could be the photographer and I more than happily accepted. I understood immediately how unique and essential this service is to our tight little community here in Portland and I am looking forward to working with her AND YOU on more shoots! Hush Sessions is a full-service bachelorette (or just because!) party organizer. Misty is the director and the one who will put the entire day, or afternoon, or night, or weekend, together flawlessly. All of the vendors involved (from hotel room, to makeup and hair, to limo rides, to VIP seating in local clubs, to photography) will be coordinated to work together to make the party seamless and fun. I ( Alice ) am honored to be the photographer! Depending on which "package" the group of friends chooses, I w

An engagement in Astoria and Ft Stevens!

What do a  shipwreck , a World War II fort , the Goonies and love have in common? Jodie & Stoney , that's what! ;) The four of us spent yesterday afternoon (April 23rd, 2011) in Astoria Oregon . It was their engagement session day AND Stoney's birthday too! Lots of fun was had all afternoon long, from the pier in town, to the famous Astoria Column , to the Peter Iredale shipwreck near high tide, and finally, to Fort Stevens. A few minor changes in clothes and lots of adventures later, we ended up at Fort George Brewery for dinner and a beer to end the fun day! The sun was out, the sky was blue and the temperature... not bad at all! A super nice spring day in Oregon with yet another awesome Mosca couple. How lucky are we to have such adventurous and ready-for-anything brides and grooms?! As you scroll down through the photos, notice what a TROOPER Josh was too! When it came time for Jodie & Stoney to climb on the ship, Josh ventured IN the freezing water in his f

Dreaming of Hawaii ~ Full Post!

Thank you for looking through our " Dreaming of Hawaii Sneak Peek post "! We have edited and organized the rest of the images we took on our trip and are happy to share them with you here. As a recap, Josh and I went for 8 days to Hawaii. Specifically, to Oahu. We stayed in Waikiki and took trips to the surrounding beaches with our new friends Krystal & Nate, who are in some of the images below ;) This trip came at the perfect time for us wedding photographers... Even though we have already started our wedding season with a wedding in March and one in early April and one coming up at the end of April, we are still in the slow time of the year. When June comes, we will start working no-stop until the autumn, so leaving when we did and for as long as we did, was perfect. We are now recharged, tan, warm, happy and ready to start the season! Hawaii was beautiful. We could have done more touristy activities, but decided to keep it slow and relaxed instead. We did spen

Dreaming of Hawaii! ~ Sneak Peek!

Hi friends! Josh and I went on a much needed vacation to Hawaii last week and are already back in Portland, recharged and happy! The trip was 8 days long and incredible to say the least. The weather was perfect: 84 degrees and 70% humid. Sunny every single, day, except for the day we rented kayaks and an underwater housing for our big Nikon D3... that day, albeit warm, it poured. Totally worth the day-trip anyway, though! We made new friends on the island too... Krystal and Nate are from Portland and we ended up spending the entire time with them. We even photographed them on a sort of quick lifestyle shoot to commemorate their love on the island-paradise. Along with all of the beach/sun/pina coladas in Waikiki and surroundings, we also decided to hop on the local bus for an hour and a half trip through city streets, all the way to Pearl Harbor. That day was amazing as well. Touching and special. What a place and what history. We have lots more to share with you as far as commentar

An intimate World Forestry Center wedding in spring.

Image
This must be a record blog post / sneak peek for us... Wendi & Danny 's wedding was this morning! At the beautiful and historic World Forestry Center , near the Oregon Zoo , here in Portland. The day turned out to be on the warm side, with some fluffy clouds and a bit of sunshine as well. A perfect spring day for the Pacific Northwest with trees in bloom too! We started at 9AM and ended around 3:30PM. In all of that time, we covered the entire wedding, from preparations to the goodbyes. What we were excited about the most, was how much time we had to spend, one on one, with Wendi & Danny! We walked to the Veteran's Memorial and then back down to the Peggy (the locomotive) and all around inside of the museum itself. This blog post is a collection of [mainly] Wendi & Danny artful/classy/fun photos ;) One thing you might want to notice in detail is a photo of the two of them with their moms and dads... from WAY UP ABOVE ! That, friends, is part of what MoscaPhoto
