Maya & Hideaki eloped with a handful of family members this past Friday August 9th, 2013. They flew to Portland from Tokyo and, together, celebrated the love between one another. We met at the always adorable Oaks Pioneer Church in Sellwood, OR to then drive to Washington Park Rose Gardens for even more portraits. Their officiant was the always lovely Sandy Shipley of Sage Creative  and we loved every minute of this day! Thank you Azuman o for organizing it and including us!

Meet Holly and Sean. They married in a sweet and simple little elopement in June, surrounded by a handful of their closest friends and family. We're SO excited to see them again, with a bigger group of friends, for their official reception party, in August! There is nothing quite like the energy and love that surrounds a couple on their wedding day. We are usually commissioned to photograph weddings that involve family members and friends, adding to the emotions of the day. Sometimes, however, we get to be 2 of the 4 total people. How? When we are contacted about the wonderful world of Wedding Elopements .  These special few hours of celebration are incredible! Josh and I get to spend a very intimate time with the bride and groom; we are the ones that serve as family, friends and photographers. The task of being all this for a couple, is exciting and humbling at the same time.  We were honored to have been contacted by the beautiful Aissata & Wayne, for their own elopement. They were flexible enough to move their date, to a day with no rain (which is a task in and of itself here in Oregon). We managed to pick a perfect Tuesday! Elopements. They are simple, short, sweet, wedding celebrations with only a core group of people attending (or none at all!). We love photographing them! We had the pleasure of meeting and being commissioned by the sweet Pilar & Larry a few months back, for their fun Thursday elopement at Multnomah County Courthouse in downtown Portland. Only a small group of family and friends attended the actual wedding ceremony, but then a few more people joined them at their reception for the "formal" dinner celebration. We travel from the courthouse to the reception, at Mother's Bistro, by way of the Portland Waterfront on Portland's very own PDX Pedicabs. It was a smooth and fun ride with some super sweet photos as a result! I love pedicabs + brides!
