Mt Hood Forest Engagement Session on a sunny February day

Image
We live in a truly magical place. The Mt Hood Wilderness area is just an hour away from downtown Portland... making it possible to visit it and be immersed in nature as often as one possibly can. We love to travel to the mountains (Mt Hood and beyond!) for our couples' engagement sessions, especially if the weather is as sunny and warm as this day was... (so rare for mid-February in Oregon!). On the day following Valentine's Day, we met with our fun and beautiful 2013 couple, Olivia and Ryan, at a cabin where she used to pass time when we was a child... this place meant a lot to her and we can see why! It's peaceful, beautiful and cozy... Loved this cabin and we loved Olivia & Ryan! Their wedding will be in September of 2013 on the Oregon Coast in Cannon Beach... it can't come soon enough. Here is the sneak peek of their engagement session:

Stephanie & Philip (& Max-dog): engagement session with Mt Hood Views

Image
Steph and Phil and Max reeeeeally wanted views of Mt Hood for their wedding. What "won" was being right in downtown Portland though, so it was only natural for us to get out of the city for their engagement session. They were able to get Mt Hood views alright! ;) This was a couple of fridays ago, it was a beautiful summer day and we met up in the evening near Gorge Crest Vineyard. The view was incredible and Max was a blast to photograph too, what a sweet doggie! He had a few garbs to wear, just like mom ;) This is just a taste of the whole shoot and we are also so excited about THEIR wedding day in the summer fo 2013!

Engagement Session on beautiful private property near Mt Hood

Image
A couple of weeks ago, we travelled to Tara & Bear's home, in the Mt Hood forest. Little did we know that their acreage and home were going to be as beautiful as many Mt Hood area wedding venues! We spent the afternoon and evening with them, photographing them in different attires while exploring their property, inside and out. It was a blast and we really hit it off, which is so great since their wedding is coming right up this month! They will marry in the Sandy area, surrounded by friends and family, coordinated and planned by the fabulous Jessica of Bash! Events NW and enveloped in a BEAUTIFUL Vera Wang dress... We are so excited for this! Here is a super quick sneak peek of their engagement session.

Gorge Crest wedding of Andrea & Pete.

Another great wedding day at Gorge Crest ! By now you may know that this is one of our most favorite venues in this area. We feel so at home when we photograph there... we love it! Andrea & Pete had a beautiful day there, despite the unfortunate wildfires at the base of Mt Hood. The thick smoke covered the majestic views all day, but dissipated at the very end of the night. Regardless, Gorge Crest has amazing little areas for fun photos AND all of the guests had a blast. Here is a sneak peek of the day with a list of the vendors involved, with more coming soon, as the information comes in. For the most part, however, Andrea and Pete were able to either DIY things for themselves or have close friends help out with planning and execution. What a great group of people this was! Wintery & Whimsical Timberline Lodge Wedding!

Image
This past Friday March 4th 2011, I (Alice) had the opportunity to second shoot for an old friend of mine, who owns Sikora Photography . He called me a week or so ago to ask if I could help him out at this wedding at the historic and beautiful Timberline Lodge , at the base of Mt Hood... and I was thrilled! Not only did I get to be a second shooter (the behind-the-scenes shooter's role that is always Josh with MoscaPhoto :) I was also given the opportunity to have some fun with photos in the snow! Cassie and Mike were troopers! The snow started falling, yet they still wanted to be outside for their portraits. She looked stunning and playful in her dress and heels on the fluffy white snow. What a beautifully dreamy place to get married in the winter!
