Portland Eastbank Esplanade and Downtown Engagement Session.

Image
This was yet another GORGEOUS spring day in Portland. The sky was beautifully dramatic ... Angie & Daniel were willing to be as beautiful and goofy as they felt like being. We love that! We love it when our couples get comfortable enough to "make faces" and not feel "weird" about it ;) We started off near the Ace Hotel in downtown Portland, walked over to Powell's Bookstore and then drove to the Eastbank Esplanade , on the east side of the Willamette River. That's where the sky went crazy! Dark billowing clouds came in from all directions, the sun was peeking through AND we even had a beautifully bright rainbow! Then... HAIL! We finished the shoot up right as the ice pellets were beginning to fall... you can see the crazy rain/hail/light in the last few images in this post! :D We can't wait for their May 2013 wedding day... it will be a BLAST! **All of the images will be/are on their own private gallery here: http://pictage.com/1405775 which wi...

Street scenes from our very own Portland Oregon.

Image
It's been a while since we've posted anything personal ;) I've been looking through our computers, in hopes of cleaning up hard drives and permanently storing older images, to make way for new shoots... in this process, I have come across never before seen images of urban scenes and urban details of the beautiful Portland Oregon. Our city is cozy and architecturally interesting. Josh and I used to spend more time walking around town, looking for details to photograph... here are some from a few years ago that I'd love to share with you. Wider scenes are what we clearly see, even from cars while driving. Closer up details are aspects of the environment around us that we only see if we take out time, walk around and look hard. All are worth capturing. Thanks for looking! :)

Real engagement session (Amy & Danielle's) featured on So You're EnGAYged!

Image
Once again, we've been featured! This time, Amy & Danielle 's engagement session takes the honors. They are to be married in front of around 200 friends and family members, in Portland, in October. We have a part 2 engagement session planned for later this summer, which we can't wait for and the theme of which is a surprise to them ;) What was featured on So You're EnGAYged was a Sunday afternoon shoot through the Pearl District, at Powell's books and on the streets of the beautiful portland neighborhood. The rains caught up with us after about an hour and a half, so we ended the session indoors, at Pearl Bakery, with a bloody mary and some laughs. To see our own blog post of that day, click here . We are honored to have been chosen as Amy and Danielle's wedding photographers and can't wait for their wedding! Below, is a screen shot of the featured article with our photos as well as Amy's own words describing how the two of them met and how ...

Fairy wings and lots of love at this wedding < 3

{If you click on the Facebook LIKE button to the left, please be sure to click on CONFIRM right after! It's a little bit of an extra step courtesy of Facebook ;) Thank you!!} Amy and Ryan are two peas in a pod. He is high ranking in the Army while she has had to live with the fact that he gets shipped overseas on a moment's notice. In fact, he has been called once again to Afganistan a little under one month from their wedding day. So, their wedding day, this past Saturday March 26th 2011 , was even more touching than usual. They were surrounded by friends and family, lots of whimsical fairytale details and high emotions. The Crown Ballroom made their day perfect with all of its decor and elegance. Geranium Lake Flowers did a beautiful job with Amy's bouquet. Amy's elf ears and fairy wings added a spark of "her" to the whole day. All in all, there were tears of joy, great dancing and singing, and lots of love. It was obvious to us that their day was go...

Some of our favorite engagement session locations!

Image
Hi everyone! We are in the full swing of things with booking for the upcoming wedding season and scheduling super fun and adventurous and casual and classy engagement sessions... this coming Monday January 17th 2011 is the first of several coming up! As soon as Monday comes along, we will have SO much new material to show you on here. We can't wait! I know that some of our clients are still brainstorming as to where to go for their shoot, so I am making a quick post with some photos of some of the most memorable and photogenic and beautiful locations we love to go to, for photos. Perhaps you can use this as an inspiration for your own? FUN! :) Engagement sessions are a way to let it all hang out. Well... that sounds a bit weird. I didn't mean it in "that way" lol! What I mean is that with the wedding day being scheduled and prepared and organized and set, there is not much room to play with regards to going somewhere different and further away for a couples...

Around downtown Portland on Xmas 2010.

Image
Love this city. Josh and I decided to walk around what we expected to be a deserted city, on this 2010 Christmas Day. There were indeed some people with our same idea, but for the most part, plenty of parking and hardly anyone around. It wasn't raining either, so we were able to take some snapshots of the holiday decor and some of the details of the gorgeous buildings. Oh! And we also found a "totally Portland" Christmas related wall art. I think you'll know which one it is out of this collection, once you see it! LOLz :) Happy Holidays!
