The Cannon Beach Wedding Elopement of Aissata and Wayne

Image
There is nothing quite like the energy and love that surrounds a couple on their wedding day. We are usually commissioned to photograph weddings that involve family members and friends, adding to the emotions of the day. Sometimes, however, we get to be 2 of the 4 total people. How? When we are contacted about the wonderful world of Wedding Elopements .  These special few hours of celebration are incredible! Josh and I get to spend a very intimate time with the bride and groom; we are the ones that serve as family, friends and photographers. The task of being all this for a couple, is exciting and humbling at the same time.  We were honored to have been contacted by the beautiful Aissata & Wayne, for their own elopement. They were flexible enough to move their date, to a day with no rain (which is a task in and of itself here in Oregon). We managed to pick a perfect Tuesday! The rains kept away until we were finished with the ceremony and portraits. Aissata, despi...

Once again, we are FINALISTS in Oregon Bride Magazine's BEST OF survey!

In 2011, the people voted. We were  FINALISTS in the Best Wedding Photographers category of Oregon Bride Magazine's yearly survey! We are SO proud of this and we thank everyone who voted for us! This year, we are once again right there at the #2 spot... sandwiched between Portland's two BIG studios who have multiple camera people and editors working in any one day. It's crazy to see that we are up for this prestigious award by being compared to the BIG studios... thank you!! Being voted by clients and fans to be one a finalist in the Best Wedding Photographer category (head to head with the big studios) is AWESOME! We here at MoscaPhoto thank you from the bottom of our hearts for getting us to this point in Oregon Bride Magazine's yearly survey and awards ! Timberline Lodge and Silcox Hut Wedding with a Rare Blue Sky and Sunshine!

Image
This was an incredible day. Josh and I met Kristin and Jason at another wonderful wedding we had photographed two years ago. We hit it off immediately, so when they got engaged, they met with us and reserved us for their own day too! We are so lucky to have such flawless relationships with our couples... the Mosca-love just keeps on giving from friend to friend, from family member to family member... we're so thankful! OK. Back to Kristin and Jason's wedding ;) We met with them at Timberline Lodge at 11 in the morning of their wedding day, March 9th 2013. We spent hours exploring the lodge itself for photos, to then ride on the snow cat to 7000 feet, where the Silcox Hut is located. This hut is historic, cozy, warm and absolutely a perfect place for a small, intimate, unique wedding. We were surrounded by immense views of the Cascade Range, pure white snow, a deep blue sky and the brightest sun we have seen in a long time... It was a surreal wedding day, with unusually ...

A charming Portland winter wedding at The Village Ballroom.

Image
Lisa and Simon's married at the charming Village Ballroom in NE Portland. The wedding was in mid-February of this year (2013), in a day without rain. For those not familiar with Portland weather patterns, no rain in February is AWESOME! ;) We were lucky to have been able to enjoy a little bit of the outdoors on their couple's session both before and after the ceremony. Twinkly lights + handmade silk bridal bouquet + a fun, live, jazz band (Design Band) at the reception + a gorgeous custom designed (by the groom!) ceremony backdrop made of cherry tree branches that were meticulously "force bloomed" in their own home for weeks... really made for a great night! Here is a summary of the day. {Friends and family of Lisa and Simon's, thank you for visiting our blog post and feel free to click on this link to see ALL of their wedding images in one place: http://pictage.com/1339549  Thank you!}
