Pearl District Portland engagement session

Katie and Nick! They are originally not from Oregon, so this engagement session doubled as a little bit of a walking tour of part of our Northwest neighborhood :) We started off in the Alphabet District, walked all the way to the Industrial NW area under the Fremont Bridge and then circled back around to The Pearl. It was a beautiful sunny and warm-ish autumn day and it was fun! We had a blast getting to know them and are excited for the new friendship!!

It's just SO fun meeting new couples who are adventurous and willing to "get down and dirty" on their shoots. We initially meet with our couples to share stories, so as to get to know each other well... to become friends! We always bond with our couples, but sometimes, we really truly see eye-to-eye. Like with Wendi & Danny ! We were joking around about being extreme photographers (right Sara?! :))) , and then realized that we were serious about 1) wanting to snow shoe to ice caves in the middle of the forests on WA state; 2) being willing, able and excited to carry our equipment and go all the way. Well... it happened! Just yesterday, in fact. We met up around 9am in Hood River, in the Columbia Gorge. We drove to Trout Lake, WA, got our Snow Passes for the day and then ventured on forest service roads, all the way to the end of the plowed area. Then came the snow shoes. Road Trip! To WPPI through back-country roads in the winter... WOW!

Hi everyone! Josh and I have been absent in the Blog-World... we know and apologize for it! ;) We have, however, been constantly updating our Facebook Page and hope that you were able to see the updates and progress of our road trip to Las Vegas as it was happening! Well, another amazing trip to the SW has come and gone. Josh and I visit the annual, giant, photography conference in Las Vegas ( WPPI ) every single year. Every year, it happens right around the end of February/beginning of March. Last year, we flew down for three days. This year, we decided to drive down! Portland , through back-country SE Oregon , through back-country Nevada , to Las Vegas . Then on our way back, we decided to take a little "detour" to the amazing Grand Canyon , in Arizona. I know... not a "detour" per se, sine it was about 300 miles in the opposite direction ;) It was worth the extra two days on the road... let me tell you! Portland's Forest Park Engagement Session

Emmery and Tim are tying the knot! ;) They are to marry this coming July 7th 2012 here in Portland and we couldn't be more excited about it... We even photographed them the day they became engaged, since we accidentally ran into them at Timberline Lodge last September, while we were shooting a wedding! Love it ;) This here is a sneak peek of their fabulous, fun, adventurous engagement session from this past Sunday June 3rd. We had postposed their session several times before because they were either suddenly unavailable due to work, or the weather just wouldn't cooperate! This past Sunday was glorious, instead. No rain and even a bit of sunlight shining through the trees. It was perfect. Emmery hikes almost one mile up the Forest Park trail, in the tall wooden wedges you see in the images below.
